We believe that our first responsibility is to our patients.  We will strive for excellence with integrity at the core of all our activities.  We will produce a culture that resonates with patients, doctors, nurses and support staff to encourage innovative, emergent, effective, compassionate and timely care that exceeds national and administrative standards.

We will function as a unit, and as a unit, we will bring our patients home every day we practice the art and science of medicine.

GENERAL AND THORACIC SURGERY MISSION

PROCEDURES

Robotic thoracic surgery affords a minimally invasive approach with all the benefits of open thoracotomy exposure.  While VATS was a compromise to the open approach, robotics is not.

SURGICAL VIDEOS

Sometimes seeing how the operation is conducted can give additional insight.  These are some select videos demonstrating a variety of procedures.

As your program and skills develop in robotics, there is data that may be useful to that evolutions.  This includes instrument choices, preference cards, and simulator curriculum.

ABOUT US

We are a group of thoracic and general robotic surgeons who have a interest in the evolution and implementation of robotic surgery.  This site will serve as a repository of imformation gleaned from the experience of building a robotics program in thoracic surgery.  This is a dynamic process and as such will continue to evolve and change.  As I believe that video reviews will be the standard of care in the future, we will try  to host these to assist in describing procedures and most improtantly critiquing the process.  This is something you should always do as you embark into robotics (or any video assisted surgery).
